The amazing range of color and variety of form exhibited in
irises when they are in bloom make them idyllic subjects of
study. The sensual and dynamic relationships of their flowing
forms, merging shapes, and mixing colors are well-suited for
my geometric style.
Since Irises are also grown in Peru, I affectionately remember
them from my childhood years. These Irises were painted
from sketches of irises grown in my garden, located in the
North shore of Boston.
Iris I was donated to the National Museum of Women in the
Arts, Washington, DC.
